Where will I go to College?

For months now, college brochures have blanketed your room and you have spent hours deciding which colleges you may want to attend. You high school career is rapidly ending and the SAT lies forever deep in your memory. You have filled out several college applications and spent hours in the post office line, mailing off your precious applications. You may think the journey is over, but in fact it has just begun.

Now you must develop the art of patience and wait for all of the colleges to make a final decision. Each day you rush home and attack the post man, only to discover that he only has bills.

Finally at the beginning of April, envelopes from colleges arrive. Some are large and others are small. You tear them open and read the decision: Acceptance, Rejection, Deferral or maybe a Waitlist. Now you must make the important decision of deciding where to attend college.

Visit all the schools. Review and negotiate your financial aid application. Talk to students who attend the colleges. If you were accepted into more than one college, stay calm and think through all of your options. Prepare to put down a deposit on the school you will attend. May 1 is just around the corner
